Medical malpractice insurance covers doctors and other healthcare professionals in the medical field for liability claims arising from their treatment of patients.
Specific cover is available from a very limited market and will usually be restricted to ‘aggregate’ or ‘in all’ cover only and will nearly always include costs and expenses.
Many ‘medical’ establishments are not aware that this cover is available, particularly those that provide consultancy services and treatment in specialist areas outside hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.
